When was your last standing ovation?

Each December on or around my birthday I like to see a show. This past birthday, the selection was Kinky Boots and I was not disappointed. The score was fantastic and the actors knocked it out of the park. So much so that when it came time for the cast to take a bow, I jumped from my seat to my feet and clapped so hard my hands hurt. The show was so enjoyable that the entire cast was awarded an audience-wide standing ovation.

Halfway through applauding the final cast members, I looked at the actors on the stage and wondered what it felt like to receive a standing ovation. Such public and undeniable recognition for delivering results.
